« on: April 05, 2022, 11:03:28 am »
Alexa is a web traffic analysis service developed by Amazon. Alexa was originally designed as an Internet traffic analysis and cost-performance evaluation tool, but has since evolved to not only offer metrics for websites, but also for mobile and desktop applications, as well as other use cases such as ranking performance of sports teams, studies of news, etc. Key metrics provided include the ranking positions of various sites on the web, visitor numbers for these sites and domain name registrars.

Search Engine Optimization / Re: What are long tail keywords?
« on: April 01, 2022, 03:31:30 am »
Long tail keywords are phrases. They are lower volume and longer in length.  They also form a larger share of all searches. Long tail keywords have:Attract more traffic than higher volume, short tail keywords Attract less competition because there is less demand for them Lower cost per click (CPC) because of low competition Higher conversion rates because it's what user is actually searching for

Keyword or keyword phrase is an important part of the page, which allows us to find a relevant site. It is the part of the text used to search engines and bots to understand where the topic of the site is. It contributes to more accurate indexing of websites in search engines. In other words, if you want your site to be found by potential visitors, then it should have fairly unique keywords for the content that best matches the vision of your business and what you do.

Robots. txt files instruct crawlers about the entire site. While meta robots tags get into the nitty-gritty of a specific page.

Paid results are basically advertisements — the Web site owners have paid to have their Web pages display for certain keywords, so these listings show up when someone runs a search query containing those keywords.

Search Engine Optimization / Re: What is a Meta Description?
« on: March 30, 2022, 11:52:08 pm »
A meta description is an HTML element that provides a brief summary of a web page. A page's meta description tag is displayed as part of the search snippet in a search engine results page (SERP) and is meant to give the user an idea of the content that exists within the page and how it relates to their search query.

Cloaking is an approach to Search Engine Optimization that includes the intended design of websites, web pages, or web sites for search engines in such a way that web crawlers are made to believe that the website visitor is visiting one URL (a real page) when in fact they are actually viewing a completely different page. The practice of cloaking violates Google's Webmaster Quality Guidelines.

Creating backlinks is essential to your site's search engine optimization (SEO) and ongoing success on the web. However, all links are not created equal. The quality of backlinks is significantly more important than the sheer number. If you don't want your SEO to go to waste, pay close attention to how you're building links. The hard truth is that many SEOs are linking to their clients' websites with low-quality or even irrelevant backlinks.

Search Engine Optimization / Re: What is Link Spam Update?
« on: March 24, 2022, 11:19:43 pm »
Link Spam Update: Approximately 148 Billion links are being indexed by Google, Yahoo and Bing – and this number continues to grow. Chances are links you created years ago are still being crawled by search engines … or worse, they are pointing to 404 errors. To be successful online, you need links … but as a search quality professional, you want high-quality links (aka, "natural" links). While we all know it's not a great idea to get a link from your competitor or to get a bad link removed by using risky link building tactics (like link networks or article marketing), we do have ways of dealing with an old, bad link.  Here at Link Spam Update, we specialize in identifying and finding webmasters who no longer control the sites hosting them (example: the site may have been sold or the company is defunct).  We then reach out the MOZ Blog with your background information and ask if they would be willing to post an update letting the whole world know that all is well .... which seems to be our MOZ Blog specialty!

Keyword stuff, keyword stuffing, and SEO keyword density are phrases used to describe irrelevant, unnecessary and badly optimized keywords in websites. Keyword Stuffing is the practice of adding keywords to your website's content in an effort to manipulate a site's ranking in search engine results pages (SERPS).

Social Media Marketing / Re: What is Robots.txt in SEO?
« on: March 23, 2022, 10:31:31 am »
Robots.txt is a file that gives instructions to the spiderbots of search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing on how they may index different websites. - It is to be placed in the root directory. - Spiders then adhere to the instructions when they explore your website, so you can effectively control how they crawl and index your webpages.

Social Media Marketing / Re: What are meta descriptions?
« on: March 23, 2022, 10:30:55 am »
Meta descriptions are short, concise summaries of any given web page. Whenever an online search engine indexes your webpages and lists them in its search results pages, it will usually include a snippet or two of text pulled from the meta description (and sometimes even the first sentence or two of the main content) right underneath the link to your web page. It's sort of like a brief blurb of what a search engine user might expect to see on that webpage.
